Gay Marriage Debate

June 2, 2009

Today at civics class.....

Today at civics class we had a final, it was just to debate about a topic. me and my friend debated about same sex marriage. we were for gay marriage and we made our points about why we should let gays marry. and our opponents made points about why they shouldnt marry. i personally hate the church, not god, and am totally against what they say about gay marriage.

if you guys dont know, here in California, we are at war about Prop. 8. yes for 8 means your against gay marriage and no means yes for gay marriage. we tried to over turn prop 8, which passed last November, but failed.

my question is what are your feelings about gay marriage. are you against it or for it. or are you just indifferent.

im not gay but do believe in civil rights and the pursuit of happiness.....

    Hey!I'm FOR same sex marriage as I have many gay friends and gay relatives....live and let live.It's their life, it's their choice and why shouldn't they get married to their partner the same as hetro people? Especially when it comes down to legal matters like wills and pensions.What difference does gender make? If you're in love and you want to be with that person for the rest of your life?Here in England gay couples can have a Civil Ceremony and some churches have blessings for gay couples.     separation of church and state. there is no legal reason why gays shouldnt be able to marry. the church will never change their mind cuz they are mostly a bunch of close minded pricks, but legally its bullshit

    I dont stand in no one side. I can't understand how a man can fuck another man. ffs thats fucked up...poor gay guys. But thay can do what they wanna do but as long as they stay out of my way. And I dont want them in my life, thanks.

    I AM FOR GAY MARRIAGE, i have family members that are gay, i would want them to be able to find their special someone and be able to marry them and be happy like any other married couple. i dont see what the big deal is, if two gay men/women want to get married i say let them get married. its their choice they are people just like you and me and they should have the same rights as you and i and they should be able to make that choice for themselves. SO I SAY F@#$ PROP. 8!!

    im just indifferent. i don't mind the gay marriage, if 2 persons are in love everything else doesn't matter, and all the people are not the same (but sometimes yes and that pisses me off). Well, maybe i'm for it, because i think it's unfair that 2 persons can't get married only because they are different, when everybody else can.

    I am for gay marriage; I personally think every single human being should choose who they want to spend rest of their lives with. I live in Canada, Toronto and gay marriage is allowed. It’s just like having the right to choose what religious you want to be part of. Absolutely no one should stop you from believing in something you are passionate about.     I think it represents how traditional customs are really being let go. In other words, I don't stand for it. Yeah, it's their choice and fine, but I wasn't raised that way, and I like custom man and wife....but not fuckin amish traditional.
