Slipknot

This is a story I had written some time ago. All the non-maggots I knew seemed to enjoy it, but I hope you guys do too. There are some special Slipknot related details in it that only a true maggot might see. Feel free to comment what you think they are,

I sat on my bed staring at the open window in front of me. The warmth from the sun felt so good against my skin. It was as though every feeling exploded through my body when I let the warmth take me in. I spilled my body on the silk sheets, taking in the warmth that was encompassing my simple room. Everything seemed to shine with a stronger hue, it was as though I had reached some sort of sixth sense through the warmth that swept in my body.

 I reached for my pillow and placed it on my face. It felt cool against my cheek, and I opened my eyes to the darkness the pillow created over my face. I breathed in taking the small amount of air I could. How sweet it would be to die at moments like these. When your body’s senses are so sharp and your mind is so calm. I thought about the lilacs painted on my walls and the magnificent aroma they’d send off if they were real.
 In my sea of thought, something touched my leg. A soft touch... none like before. Almost as soft as the touch of the mother I never had... or the father I’d always wished for. I removed the pillow from my face glancing down at my knee. A small vermilion butterfly rested upon my knee, it’s gorgeous wings opening and closing against my skin. It flew up, landing on my stomach. I felt a fire build deep inside of me as it stayed still against the white silk of the gown I wore. 
 It fluttered its wings and rose high above me in the room. I sat up on my bed looking at its graceful movements. My lids widened at the sight of it flying towards the window in my room. I moved up off the bed, and paced closer to the window while my blonde hair gently swayed at the soft winds that emerged from outside. It flew out of the window, hovering in front of me as though it were waiting for me to follow. 
 “Jump!” I heard from a masculine voice below me. “I promise I will catch you.” I looked below me, a young man with a face as though in pain smiled at me with his sparkling blue eyes. His face was white, black splotches on it that were sewn together.... there were breaks on his forehead where a thorn crown was placed upon his head. His hair was long, and black mess caked with blood and small flowers. 
 “What are you waiting for??” He asked lovingly, outstretching his arms towards me. I kneeled on the windowsill poking my head out the window. My long, smooth blonde hair lingering in front of my face. I jumped, closing my eyes, expecting for the dark angel below me to completely miss me. But to my surprise, I felt his cool touch as fast as I jumped off the window. I opened my lids, confronted by the shining blue of his beautiful eyes.
 He put me down gently, smiling at me. “You see? I wasn’t going to let you fall.” He reached for my hand, kissing it and getting down on one knee in front of me, disappearing slowly into the wind. I waved goodbye as he vanished with the wind. I turned around, and the vermilion butterfly was nowhere to be seen. 
 I looked everywhere but I saw its flutter no more. I ran my fingers through my hair and out flew the little butterfly from between my fingers. It started to fly quickly in front of me, and I ran closely behind. I kept running and noticed we’d entered the woods, trees acting like curtains against the shining sun. 
 I kept running, jumping over small rivers and skipping over small pebbles in the dirt. I looked up at the little butterfly, flying without care. I took a step in front of me, my foot slipping against a wet rock. I felt hands on my waist as I almost fell off the side of the path I was on. “You should be more careful, you could’ve gotten hurt there.” I turned, locking eyes with the dark angel from before. He held me close as I carefully regained my balance and kept walking. 
 He held my hand as we followed the butterfly. He looked at me, and I smiled. “You know, I never told you how beautiful your eyes are... they remind me of the meadows in front of your house; they’re so green. I love them.” I blushed, looking up at him shyly. I placed my arms around him and placed my body close against his. “I love you,” I said, looking into his crystal blue eyes. 
 Tears began to roll down the scarred and stitched skin of his cheeks. “Thank you.” He held me in his arms, kissing my forehead as the vermilion butterfly landed on my arm. I smiled, laying my palm next to the butterfly. It fluttered on to my hand, outstretching its wings. The little butterfly began to vaporize, crimson smoke floating off it. It melted, leaving a silver ring in the middle of my hand.
 I looked into the angel’s face and felt tears swell in my eyes. His face changed dramatically; he was scarred no more. His face was a beautiful shade of white, even, without any scars or stitches. His hair was perfect, jet black and straight as ever. He smiled, and I was taken back by the stunning beauty of his face. And instead of a thorn crown, a sparkling silver crown was placed on his head.
 He asked for the silver ring in my hand and I gave it to him. “I knew that the girl who would unlock the curse would be the luckiest.... be mine, sweet girl.” He placed the ring in the ring finger of my left hand. I smiled, placing my head against his chest. He lifted my chin, placing his lips against mine. I opened my eyes, and saw that the world around me was gone and we stood in a forest of dead trees and black leaves. 
 “Welcome to the other side,” he said, as he walked me towards a grove of dying trees. I smiled, happy to spend the rest of this new life with the dark angel I’d met only a while before.
